What is an invocation?
An invocation is a prayer or call to summon a higher power, spiritual force, or divine presence into a ritual space, aligning participants with the energies of deities, ancestors, or cosmic forces. 🙏🌿💫
I have been singing Sun Ra’s “Satellites are Spinning” 🚀, which I present here, as an invocation these days:
“Oh, we sing this song to a brave tomorrow! Oh, we sing this song to abolish sorrow!”
I believe Sun Ra’s unique transmission of cosmic philosophy and Afrofuturism offers a vision of liberation, cultural empowerment, and spiritual transformation through sound and space exploration. 🌍🎶💫
