I’m a vocalist, composer, sound healer, music researcher, and certified coach who specializes in the relationship between voice, emotion, and the body.
I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember, and I’m fascinated by the power of the human voice. Singing has the capacity to transform not only our inner lives, but also our relationships, our communities, and the world around us.
If there’s one thing I know, it’s this: living a creative, pleasurable life is one of the surest paths to living well. Creativity helps us imagine new possibilities and literally creates new neural pathways.
And pleasure? Many of us have been taught to think of pleasure as frivolous, but true pleasure is a state of embodiment, aliveness, and authenticity. From that place, we make wiser decisions, connect more deeply, and experience life more fully.
For most of human history, music wasn’t something reserved for professionals. Singing, dancing, storytelling, and making music together belonged to everyone. They are part of what makes us human.
These creative practices nourish us. They bring joy, strengthen community, support lifelong learning, and help build resilience. Whether you grew up singing with your family or haven’t sung in years, it’s never too late to reclaim that birthright. I believe we’re living through a renaissance of people rediscovering the healing power of making music together.
I grew up singing in choirs and vocal ensembles, and community singing remains one of my greatest joys. As my studies expanded, I became deeply interested in how cultures around the world use music, sound, and ritual for personal and collective transformation. While every tradition has its own musical language, I’ve found that the joy of singing is universal.

Nada Yoga: The Yoga of Sound
In my late teens, I began studying classical Indian music. It introduced me to a way of understanding the voice that has shaped my life ever since.
Indian music celebrates both the joy of singing together and the disciplined practice of cultivating one’s own voice through deep listening, meditation, and devotion. It inspired a question that continues to guide my work:

How do we connect our individual voice with the universal sound of creation?
In India, singing as a meditative practice is known as mantra sadhana and forms part of the tradition of Nāda Yoga—the Yoga of Sound. Through sustained vocal tones, mantra, and deep listening, the voice becomes a pathway to presence, insight, and inner freedom.
Over the years, I’ve experienced firsthand how the voice can become an instrument of healing. Certain sounds naturally invite the nervous system into states of deep relaxation and meditation. Combined with breath, movement, and other somatic practices, singing has become one of my most powerful tools for self-awareness, emotional integration, and transformation.
